Frequently Asked Questions

How do I score a game?

Start a new game from the Bowl tab, add bowlers, and choose your input mode (Pin Layout, 3D Pins, or Quick Count). Tap the pins you knocked down and confirm each throw.

What is Tap Knocked vs Tap Standing?

Two ways to mark your pins. "Tap Knocked" means you tap the pins you knocked down. "Tap Standing" means you tap the pins still standing. Switch anytime during a game.

Can I undo a throw?

Yes. After confirming a throw, an Undo button appears. Tap it to revert your last throw. Works on both iPhone and Apple Watch.

How does Apple Watch scoring work?

Start a game on your iPhone and your Apple Watch automatically shows the pin layout. Tap pins on your wrist, confirm throws, and scores sync instantly. Your tap mode (knocked/standing) syncs too.

Is my data synced across devices?

Yes. PinTracker uses iCloud (CloudKit) to sync your games, stats, and bowler profiles across all your Apple devices automatically.

What do I get with Pro?

Pro is a one-time $4.99 purchase that unlocks: Apple Watch scoring, Live Activity on your Lock Screen, Home & Lock Screen widgets, advanced stats, ball tracking, and league management. Free tier includes unlimited scoring and full game history.

How do I restore my purchase?

Pro purchases are tied to your Apple ID and restore automatically. If Pro features are not showing, make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID you used to purchase. Go to Settings > App Store and verify your account.

Troubleshooting

Apple Watch not connecting

Make sure your Watch and iPhone are paired and both have the app installed. Open PinTracker on both devices. The Watch app activates automatically when a game starts on iPhone.

Widgets not showing data

Open PinTracker on your iPhone at least once so widget data can be written. If widgets still show empty, try removing and re-adding the widget.

Scores not syncing via iCloud

Ensure iCloud is enabled in Settings > Apple ID > iCloud. The first sync after install may take 10-30 seconds. Make sure both devices are on Wi-Fi.
